Leadership Development
One of our clients asked for help with a leadership development initiative. We worked closely with them to identify a phased approach, beginning with a 360° assessment. That was followed with guidance and assistance as each individual crafted their leadership development plan. Last, we provided ongoing 1:1 coaching as they improved their leadership skills and increased their contributions to the organization.
At the heart of the assessment phase is the Lominger Voices® 360° Feedback Online Survey, a competency-based, research-validated 360 assessment. We gathered inputs from each individual, their supervisor, and several peers and direct reports. The information is then combined and analyzed to provide an accurate view of strengths and opportunity areas.
Next we worked with each person as they created their own leadership development plan. This is an iterative process that also involves their supervisor, and starts with identifying 3 or 4 focus areas from their Voices® report that are important and need improvement. Once this is done, desired outcomes are defined and action steps identified. And at several points, this work is calibrated with the supervisor to make sure it’s aligned with the organization’s strategic and tactical plans.
Last, we provided ongoing 1:1 leadership coaching to each individual, once or twice a month in a confidential manner, to help them see how to change their approach in order to improve their leadership skills, especially in their chosen focus areas.
The client reported improvements in communication which led to improved decision making.
